Closed testing puts Parlorex on your phone through the Play Store itself - no unknown-sources warning, no re-downloading an APK every time we ship. We need twelve testers to open the doors, so signing up genuinely helps.

It has to be the Google account you use on your phone - that is how the Play Store lets you in. A work address that is not a Google account will not work.

Not a download — a test

The murder mystery is not on this page as a file any more. It is in closed testing on Google Play, which means it arrives like any other app: through the Play Store, updating itself, with no unknown-sources warning and no re-downloading anything when we ship.

The old sideload build here was a debug APK from May and had fallen months behind the game. Testing is the honest route now.

Play testing is not open for this one yet. Register as a tester and you will get the link the day it is.

How to install a mini game

  1. Open this page on your Android phone and tap Download the APK on any of the three below.
  2. When the file lands, tap it. Android will ask permission to install from this browser — allow it for the install only.
  3. Confirm the install. The game appears in your launcher under its own name.
  4. To uninstall, long-press the icon and pick App info → Uninstall. Nothing is left behind.

What these builds are

  • Release builds, the same ones on Google Play. Signed with our own key rather than Google's, so Android will warn you on install — that is normal for a sideloaded app and not a sign anything is wrong.
  • Free. No adverts, nothing to buy, and no account needed — pick a name only if you want to appear on the leaderboards.
  • No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting.
